Office of Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is the official source of university data that demonstrates the extent to which Ashland University is fulfilling its mission and realizing its vision.

Data provided by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness is used in many ways, including:

Accountability reports to federal and state governments and various educational and commercial agencies
Guiding institutional decisions and supporting student success
Supporting the university's accreditation process
Supporting the research and evaluation efforts of administrative offices and academic departments
Monitoring the progress of the institution's 战略规划 efforts.

University Reports

Surveys and Studies

NSSE annually collects information at hundreds of four-year colleges and universities about first-year and senior students' participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development. The results provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college. Institutions use their data to identify aspects of the undergraduate experience inside and outside the classroom that can be improved through changes in policies and practices more consistent with good practices in undergraduate education. This information is also used by prospective college students, 他们的父母, college counselors, 学术顾问, institutional research officers, and researchers to learn more about how students spend their time at different colleges and universities and what they gain from their experiences.

The RNL Student Satisfaction Inventory™ (SSI) measures student expectations and satisfaction with various college-related experiences. Students who complete the inventory provide two ratings of 73 expectations about campus experiences. First, they indicate how important it is that the institution meets each of the expectations. Second, they indicate how satisfied they are that the institution has met those expectations. The results of the survey identify both strengths and challenges for the university and are used to inform student success initiatives, 战略规划, and continuous improvement.
